Russian Medicina JSC has been re-accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) according to the international healthcare quality standards

Moscow-based Medicina JSC remains the only JCI certified Russian healthcare facility.

On 02 July 2014 JCI has issued an official certificate of re-accreditation for Medicina JSC. It means that having been successfully accredited the first time the Clinic has undergone a JCI required triennial review confirming its adherence to the highest international standards in patient safety and quality of healthcare services. There are 659 JCI certified hospitals worldwide. In Russia however Medicina JSC since 2011 remains the only one with the highest quality of healthcare services recognized by the international JCI accreditation.

Due to the ongoing diversification and improvement of patient safety and healthcare quality standards not all clinics succeed in their first attempt at re-accreditation. Grigory Roytberg, President of Medicina JSC and Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences makes a point: “Resurvey according to the JCI standards is more of a responsibility than the initial accreditation. It is very important to live up to the expectations of your patients, so we are striving to deliver more than is expected and be above the most demanding requirements set in the international standards”.

Commenting on the resurvey results Ann K. Jacobson, JCI Executive Director International Accreditation Joint Commission International remarked that “Russian people can be proud of Medicina JSC undertaking such a complex task of the ongoing improvement of their services”.

The resurvey was conducted by a team of specialists assigned by the Joint Commission International Accreditation, - the largest international medical regulatory body. The following three aspects were under inspection: performance by physicians, nurses and administration. JCI surveyors were particularly interested in the healthcare quality planning, high level of professional competence demonstrated by medical and administrative personnel, ethical standards, management and maintenance of the clinic and safety measures. They also checked on reliability of services provided, patient and family protection levels, personnel safety measures, technological infrastructure of both buildings of the clinic and reviewed a number of other areas. The high quality performance in all the departments of Medicina JSC was commended by the experts.

As a consequence there is an absolutely trustworthy internationally recognized clinic in Russia enjoying the highest reputation in the medical world.

Joint Commission International (JCI) is an independent international not-for-profit organization with a mission to continuously improve the safety and quality of healthcare in the international community through the provision of education and advisory services and international accreditation and certification. Clinics and healthcare facilities accredited by JCI have the highest international medical and administrative standards. JCI certificates are a sign of perfect management and quality healthcare excellence. JCI is the world’s largest and oldest medical regulatory body. Having originated in the USA in 1917 it has now become the most prestigious accreditation body in the world. 197 core standards, 368 general standards and 1032 measurable elements are used to evaluate the healthcare facility performance.
