Medicina JSC Wins the Award For Contributions Made to Form the Objective International Image of Russia

This year we announced the decision to give the award “For Contributions Made to Form the Objective International Image of Russia” to Medicina JSC which has made a large contribution to the image of Russian medicine as the advanced knowledge- intensive branch of medical service. Medicina JSC has introduced the world’s best achievements, experience and innovations into practice for the benefit of Russian people and their health".

Grigory E. Roytberg, President of Medicina JSC, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences said, This award is a pleasant, though natural result of the long-term international activity of the clinic. Medicina JSC is an accredited member of The Swiss Leading Hospitals Association and is so far the only Russian hospital accredited according to the international standards of the Joint Commission International (JCI).
The honorary award For the Contributions Made to Form the Objective International Image of Russia is another big victory of the clinic, as quite recently – on October 9, 2012 in Brussels Medicina JSC was announced the Prize Winner in the EFQM Excellence Award 2012 (European Fund of Quality Management) in the Adding Value for Customers award nomination.
The award For Contributions Made to Form the Objective International Image of Russia was bestowed in attendance of Union George Grechko, space pilot and twice Hero of the Soviet Union; Vladimir Menshov, actor, director, screenwriter, producer, Honorary Master of Arts of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Academy Award (Oscar) winning film director, Winner of the State Award of the USSR; Igor Bril, the jazz pianist, composer; Alexey Boldyrev, poet, writer; Marina Suslova, head of Committee of Public Relations in the government of Moscow; Natalia Dementyeva, Senator, Member of the Federation Council of Russia; as well as other artists, heads of major Russian and foreign companies.
The award ceremony was followed by the concert Doctoring as Art with Solo Tango Orchestra group and world class dancers Irina Maruseeva and Denis Chekin.

Medicina JSC was established in 1990. It is a multi-specialty medical centre: it has a polyclinic, an inpatient facility, a trauma section, a 24 hour ambulance and the Sofia Oncology Center. More than 300 doctors of 44 medical specialties work at Medicina JSC.
It is the only medical clinic in Russia accredited in accordance with the most reliable Joint Commission International (JCI) international standards of medical care, has independent confirmation that it meets all the internationally accepted requirements and holds ISO:9001:2000 certification.
In 2012 Medicina JSC won the Award For Excellence of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in the Adding Value for Customers nomination.
Medicina JSC is an accredited member of The Swiss Leading Hospitals Association and the winner of the Russian Government Quality Award for 2009.
In 2012 Medicina JSC put into operation a new building with a Multi-field Inpatient Department for 105 beds, 4 operating rooms, including a hybrid operating room, and the Sofia Oncology Center with the most advanced diagnostic and medical equipment, fitted within the framework of the innovative project ‘SMART Clinic.
The Russian Muses — to the World project has existed since 1998 under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The project was initiated by Sergey Lavrov, Evgeny Primakov, Igor Ivanov, Mikhail Shvydkoi. The events of the project are held in the form of a concert-reception. In the 14 years of its work the foundation held 143 concerts in 29 countries of the world. Mstislav Rostropovich, Yury Bashmet, Zurab Sotkilava, Nikolay Petrov, Denis Matsuyev, George Garanyan and many other outstanding musicians took part in the events organized by the foundation.
The award For Contributions Made to Form the Objective International Image of Russia was founded by the Classical Music and Art Foundation Muses to the World within the International musical project Russian Muses to the World, at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The award is given to outstanding persons and organizations whose activity supports the international image of Russia as the state of high achievements in the fields of science, culture, art, education and etc. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; Adzhay Malkhotra, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India in Russia; Ekaterina Mechetina, the pianist, winner of some international competitions, winner of the Award of the President of the Russian Federation for young artists became winners of the award.
Solo Tango Orquesta is the first Russian tango orchestra which has gained world recognition. It is the winner of the international competitions: XXXV Castelfidardo Festival Internazionale della fisarmonica (Italy) in the category Piazzolla's Music, XXXXVIII Klingenthal International Competition (Germany), the winner of the international competition Libertango, the owner of a Special Award set by P.I.Tchaikovskys Foundation (Moscow). Solo Tango has been the official orchestra of major International Tango Festivals around Europe: Berlin Tango festival 2012, Tangomagia (Amsterdam, Netherlands 2011), Istanbul Tango festival 2011, 2012 (Turkey), Tango NorteFestival (Stockholm, Sweden 2011) and many others.
