Grigory Efimovich Roytberg is the founder and CEO of Medicina JSC - one of the best private clinics in Russia and Europe. G.E. Roytberg is not just the Head of Medicina JSC but one of its practicing physicians. Grigory Efimovich was at the forefront of adopting such profound diagnostic methods as coronary angiography and echocardiography. Grigory Roytberg laid the foundations of scientific research into the metabolic syndrome and has over 200 publications, including six monographs, to his credit.
Here are the main stages of his biography which led him to success. Having graduated in 1974 from the Second Moscow Medical Institute named after N.I. Pirogov Grigory Roytberg entered into a residency training programme in cardiology. While training he worked in the cardiology department and subsequently in the cardiology intensive care unit of the Moscow city hospital №7. The love of Grigory Efimovich Roytberg for the chosen profession was to determine his future. For many years now he has been a successful practitioner as well as a researcher and a teacher. In 1982 he completed a PhD and became an Assistant Professor. In 1990 he received his MD. In the same year under his supervision Medicina JSC was established.
Since 1998 Medicina JSC is a clinical base for the Chair of Therapy and Family Medicine of the Doctors Improvement Faculty of the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I.Pirogov (RNIMU).
In recognition of his outstanding professional standards in medical practice, teaching and research Professor Grigory Roytberg was made Honoured Physician of the Russian Federation in 2003 and in 2005 elected Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. A textbook for doctors and medical students ‘Laboratory and instrumental diagnostics of abdominal diseases’ co-authored by G.E. Roytberg and the Chair of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases at RNIMU Professor A.V. Strutynsky received a Moscow Mayor Award in medicine.
In 2010 for his series of publications ‘Foundations of clinical diagnostics of abdominal diseases’ G.E. Roytberg became a Winner of the Government Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of education.
In 2011 Grigory Efimovich Roytberg was elected Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
